In the evening there will be a welcome dinner and Katerina will introduce you to some of the food that you will learn to cook during your stay.
Day 2 After breakfast, you will be provided with your first Greek Language session, exploring the menus and recipes in Greek. Lunch will be served around 12.30 and afterwards you may like to take a stroll into Poros town or a local walk followed by a swim at love Bay. Around 14.30 your first lesson begins, this will be followed by a late afternoon drink or a short siesta, before returning around 17.00 to cook the final stages of dinner which will then be served.
Day 3 After an earlier than usual breakfast, take a walk into Poros harbour to visit the fish market where we will select a range of ingredients for today's lesson. This will be followed by a visit to a local cafe for coffee and Greek pastries. After lunch, the early part of the afternoon is free. Mid-afternoon you will start to prepare the evening meal from the fish selected at the market. You may decide on a fish barbecue along with some freshly prepared Greek salads, fish sauces, roasted vegetables, some herb dressings. Then enjoy dinner in a relaxed sociable style, late into the evening.
Day 4 Today includes a visit to another island, Aegina, Hydra or Methana peninsula with lunch provided. During your journey you will collect local produce for today's lesson of the traditional Meze. Then it's back to the kitchen to learn to cook and serve the Meze in the traditional Greek style.
Day 5 This is a free day for you to explore Poros Island, Mainland Greece, or just relax by the beach or pool. Lunch will be provided at your accommodation around 13.00 as will dinner which will be served around 20.00.
Day 6 After breakfast, an opportunity will be provided for those who wish to have another Greek Language lesson. This will be followed by a visit to either the hotel's own lemon or olive grove to learn about the use of both these ingredients in Greek cooking. A picnic lunch will be provided. Upon your return mid-afternoon, it's time for the final cooking lesson - a Greek classic - Moussaka, Pastitsio or Souvlaki. Dinner will then be served.
Day 7 Depending on the time of year, today you will make some local visits to learn about the important seasonal nature of ingredients in Greek cooking.
