The cooking course starts today with a tour of the resort’s organic garden. Learn about the agricultural practices of Balinese farmers and help collect some of the seasonal ingredients. The organic cooking lesson begins with a tasting from the garden followed by lucnh in a traditional Balinese pavilion. The rest of the day is your own. |

After an early morning breakfast visit the morning market at Klungkung and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of one the busiest village markets in East Bali. Return to the hotel to learn how to use the ubiquitous Ulekan (traditional Balinese mortar and pestle) to make the embodiment of Balinese cuisine, bumbu Bali (Balinese curry paste), and bumbu kacang (peanut sauce). The chef will teach you how to use the wok to prepare nasi goreng (fried rice) Balinese style and sate ayam (grilled chicken skewers). Then savour the morning’s handiwork over a leisurely lunch in the restaurant.

This morning, join our keen team of fishermen aboard our jukung, a traditional style fishing boat and join the colourful local fleet of fishing boats and catch a fish for your dinner! The cooking class commences in the late afternoon in our garden by the sea. You will learn to make a local fish and prawn curry, bumbu Bali and pepes ikan (fish wrapped in banana leaves) using your catch of the day. You will then be served a seafood mengibung featuring the food you cooked during your class and the fish you caught that day. |

After breakfast, visit Pak Sugita's house at Ngis village, to make Jaje Bali (Balinese sweets) and palm sugar, followed by morning coffee with the the locals. Then its off to the organic garden for your cooking class to create a healthy
vegetarian lunch using organic products from the local area. Relax in the bale and enjoy your lunch and the tranquil surroundings. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure until your evening yoga class. A great day of cleansing, stretching and cooking for life. |

Travel to our organic garden and enjoy a Balinese breakfast prepared using a Jalikan or traditional wood fired stove. After, explore the garden and nearby land, pick herbs, roots and fruits and begin to discover the secrets that the Balinese people use to keep themselves healthy. Learn how to make coconut oil and how to use it to make your own skin treatments. Create a facial treatment using the local fruits and organic bath sea salts from the Kusumba Seasalt and a herbal body scrub. Discover the life-giving qualities of jamu, when you make an ancient recipe called beras kencur.
A healthy lunch will be served in the bale. Take this time to reflect over the day’s activities before journeying back to the hotel where you will enjoy a special spa treatment using traditional Balinese oils and embodiments. |
