NASI GORENG
Indonesian Fried Rice
Serves 2
Ingredients
40 gm Chicken Diced small
40 gm Prawn Diced small
2 cups Steamed Rice
20 gm Leek Sliced
20 gm Onion Sliced
1 tsp Garlic Chopped
10 gm Red Chili Sliced
30 gm White CabbageSliced
20 gm Carrot Sliced
20 gm Long Bean Sliced
2 pc Red Chili - small Sliced
2 Eggs (for mix & garnish)
Sauce
2 Tblsp Sweet Soy Sauce (Manis)
1Tblsp Soy Sauce (Asin)
1Tblsp Sesame Oil
2 tsp Fresh Sambal (Sambal Pedas)
Method:
Preheat 1 tblsp Peanut oil until almost smoking.
The ingredients now have to added at a reasonable pace.
Add Chicken & Stir.
Add the chopped small chili and garlic.
Add the remaining vegetables.
Add 1 whole Egg & stir with the back of the spoon until dry and crumbly.
Turn the heat off.
Add the rice, sauces and sambal and mix with the back of the wok spoon.
Garnishes:
Bawang Goreng (Fried shallots or small Spanish onion)
Acar (Pickled spicy vegetables)
Chef’s Note: Use steamed rice that is cold or warm so you have a light Nasi Goreng. Also remember not to much oil at the start and ensure that the wok is hot! |
