Cooking in the Rose City
Day 1 Arrival at Queen Alia airport, Amman. You’ll be met at the airport and stay overnight at an excellent Amman hotel.
Day 2 The trip starts with a visit to Mt. Nebo from where Moses viewed the Promised Land – a panoramic view over the Jordan River Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and the hills of Judea. After a trip to Madaba, there’ll be lunch where you’ll be able to try some of the many special dishes you’ll be learning during the course. Then it’s to Petra to settle into your hotel. In the evening meet the chef and the local women at the Petra kitchen for your first cooking lesson followed by dinner.

Day 3 Explore the deserted city of Petra with your guide. In the early evening it’s on with aprons again to cook a traditional Jordanian meal followed by dinner.
Day 4 Return to Petra approached this time via the mile long Siq, with a legendary and breathtaking view at the end. After a mornings exploration you’ll accompany the chef to the local souk (produce market) to buy ingredients for the evening’s cooking followed by another spectacular meal
Day 5 Drive to Shobak one of the great chain of Crusader fortresses. You’ll visit one or two of the orchards and farms tucked away in the fertile hillsides and may even get to pick your own produce for the evening session. The afternoon is free to relax at your hotel before reconvening in the evening for cooking.

Day 6 This morning you’re free to explore or relax at the hotel before a trip to Neolithic Baidha. Here at a fabulous outdoor spot there will be a very special lesson - making the Bedouin dish zarb that is cooked in a sealed clay oven. Dinner follows before heading back to the hotel for your last night in Petra
Day 7 Depart for the Dead Sea - the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Have a weightless soak in its therapeutic waters and come away rejuvenated. You stay at the five star Movenpick resort, right on the shore.
Day 8 Transfer to Amman airport. Or speak to our consultants about fascinating extensions to your trip.
Dates This culinary break is available all year round and runs on a Saturday to Saturday basis.
