Gastro Weekend
Day 1 Arrive at Granada or Malaga international airport and transfer to the Finca in the Andalusian heartland. Enjoy your welcome drinks and settle in. Take a stroll in the early evening, around the charming whitewashed lakeside village of Iznájar, perched high on a rocky outcrop, with spectacular views of the Lake of Andalusia. Dinner follows - contemporary Andalusian cuisine prepared by your hosts.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast, you visit the lively town of Priego de Córdoba - home of award-winning olive oil. Known as the “Baroque Jewel” in Andalusia with its glorious Baroque architecture and national monuments it is delightfully unspoilt. Take a gentle stroll in the narrow passageways of “Barrio de la Villa”, or the Arab Quarter, bedecked with a myriad of colourful flowers, stopping at a typical Andalusian tapas bar for lunch with fino. After lunch you can experience an olive oil tasting. Priego de Córdoba gives its name to one of the none Spanish olive oil Denominations of Origin. You'll visit an internationally acclaimed, award-winning producer of olive oil to taste their different kinds of oil. Back to the Finca, relax and then attend your first hands-on cooking session followed by dinner.
Day 3 The leisurely day begins with a visit and tasting at one of the best-known producers of sherry wine founded in the 18th century in Montilla. Here you will learn the history of the winery and the process, method and different types of wine that are produced in this region. You will then travel through the delightful Andalusian countryside to visit one of the most important Moorish cities in Andalusia, Cordoba. After a quick stop at the Moroccan tea salon, you are then free to explore the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces, Mezquita, to visit the most famous street, the Callejón de las Flores whose balconies and walls are decorated with hanging pots of vibrant-coloured geraniums, and to wonder around the World Heritage site, the Judería, or old Jewish quarter. After a tapas lunch you will return to the Finca in the afternoon to refresh. Later in the evening, you will enjoy your final cooking session, followed by dinner afterwards.
