Day 1 Arrive into Girona where your host will be waiting for you and you will be transferred to your hotel by private mini-bus. Alternatively, if you are arriving into Barcelona airport you will need to take the fast train to Girona train station where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

After a welcome drink you will be taken to a traditional Catalan tapas restaurant for a welcome dinner.
Day 2 After a full breakfast at the hotel you will go on a short visit to a local market followed by a visit to a local wine cellar and its vineyards where you will get the chance to do some wine tasting!

You will then have some free time for lunch before staring your first cooking lesson with Chef Joan. Today you'll learn how to prepare traditional Catalan cooking like escalibada, garum (roman influence), chicken with lobster and Catalan cream.

That evening you will get to enjoy a typical Catalan dinner which you have prepared, accompanied by some wines from the visited vineyard.
Day 3 After breakfast, you will go for a tour of Girona, a city with great Roman, Jewish, Gothic and Romanesque architectural influence. You will visit a cathedral with the widest gothic nave in Europe!

Lunch today will be in a traditional restaurant in the Old quarter of Girona which serves traditional-meets-modern cuisine. Your afternoon will be free, to discover the magic of the city on your own and do some shopping. Cars are not allowed in the centre of the city!

For dinner you can choose one of the many restaurants available in Gerona, and the cooking school are more than happy to recommend, should you find it helpful!
Day 4 After breakfast you will visit the rice growers of Pals, just a 30 min stroll from the hotel. Then you will visit the Iberian settlement of Vllastret before continuing on to Palamos, a lovely city on the coast, famous for its shrimp (Palamos shrimps).

Lunch time is free for you to shop or choose a restaurant to have a light snack.

On our way back from the port of Palamos you will see the fishermen arrival and the selling of the 'catch of the day'.

Then it's on with the second cooking class: Tapas using a mixture of Catalan & Spanish recipes. You will prepare an assortment of small dishes, served for dinner that night with various Catalan wine.
Day 5 After breakfast there is a visit a cheese factory to understand the process of making it, and then you will meet our Chef Esteban in his chocolate factory! He will show you around his factory where you will get to taste some of his specialities!

You will be free to try one of the many restaurants for lunch in the village, before starting your third and final cooking class of the course.

Dinner will be a selection of what you have prepared during your course, served with local wine.
Day 6 Your gastronomy concludes after breakfast and you will be transferred back to the airport for your onward flight.
